Pamela J. Maxson, PhD, serves as the Director of Operations for the Duke Center for Community and Population Health Improvement. After Dr. Maxson earned her Masters’ degree and PhD in Human Development from the Pennsylvania State University, she was awarded an NIA post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development at Duke University. Dr. Maxson has been at Duke since 1994 and has many years of research, education, and outreach experience, particularly in health equity, population health, environmental health, and social determinants of health. Dr. Maxson is committed to improving population health through interdisciplinary research, authentic community engagement and outreach, and innovative education initiatives.
