ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:

Amy Martha, MD
Dr. Amy Murtha is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Department of Pediatrics, and Vice Chair for Research in Obstetrics and Gynecology. After graduating from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1992 she completed her residency in Ob-Gyn and fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) at Duke University then joined the faculty at Duke in 1998.  Currently Dr. Murtha serves as the Interim Chair of Ob-Gyn as well as the Vice Chair for Research, Clinical Research Unit (CRU) Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, MFM Fellowship Director, and Program Director for the NIH-funded K12 training grant Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health (BIRCWH).  Dr. Murtha uses her experiences and leadership skills to create an environment of supportive, collaborative, financially responsible research at Duke that aligns with the missions of the School of Medicine and the Duke University Health System.
